Bilton in Ainsty

Dear All

You may be interested in an open weekend at Bilton in Ainsty on the Weekend of 30th June / 1st July to commemorate the Battle of Marston Moor.  Bilton has a historic church with a number of architectural features and is waiting to please. This is a rare opportunity to see inside our church, home to treasures of pre-conquest sculpture, mysterious Anglo-Norman carvings and the ‘Bilton Worm’, a strange relic of the Battle of Marston Moor. We look forward to seeing you.  See Further Details

I must also add that St Helen’s has been chosen to be part of the Yorkshire Medieval Festival with an archeologist here between 11am and 3pm on the 10th August, to show people our treasures and answer questions, all welcome.

With Kind Regards and thanks

Susie Pilling (Bilton-in-Ainsty with Bickerton PHG)
