The Roman Antiquities Section of the Yorkshire Archaeological Society has set up a website dealing with all things Roman in Yorkshire.
The intention is to provide a central point, a hub if you like, for all things Roman in Yorkshire.
The site will be informative and educational, by providing updates on recent developments, a comprehensive gazetteer of Roman Yorkshire, articles on research, and much much more (eventually!), and hopefully will generate greater interest in our Roman heritage.
For the project to be a success, we need to know about any and all recent discoveries, research, excavations of relevance to our understanding of Roman Yorkshire. To help us do this, we’re asking all historical and archaeological societies and groups in Yorkshire to let us know if they are doing any relevant work (or know of any taking place on their patch), as well as lectures, courses, field trips, etc that you are organising that would be of interest to both our members and the general public so we can publicise them on the new website
You can find the website here
