The architecture of the Anglo-Saxon churches of North Yorkshire

St_Gregory's_MinsterLast Tuesday Professor Joyce Hill entertained a capacity audience in Marton cum Grafton Village Hall with her talk on ‘The Staffordshire Hoard’.

Unfortunately the following talk in August has had to be cancelled, a new date is being organised probably for September and Professor Hill is suggesting the content is changed to feature the Harrogate Viking Hoard  Further details to follow ….

The next talk in the series will be on Tuesday 27th August at 7.30 pm in the Marton cum Grafton Village Hall.

This lecture features many churches in our immediate area: Kirk Hammerton, Kirby Hill and St Gregory’s Minister plus many others, and describes the position of early Christianity in the Saxon social structure. This is a fascinating talk for anyone interested in the early history of our area.

The last lecture sold out, so I would advise booking early if you wish to enjoy Joyce’s engaging and enthusiastic style.

£5.00 per person, includes a free glass of wine, or a soft drink if you prefer.
