Open Evening Marton Cum Grafton

Marton Cum Grafton has been the scene of some fascinating archaeology being carried out by the history group together with South Leeds Archaeology.  Much of the work has been based upon geophysics surveys carried out by Bradford University post graduate students.

To find out more come along to the open evening on Thursday 28th August 2014 in the Marton Cum Grafton village hall.

Roman Roads of North Yorkshire

There will be a series of talks in the Village Hall, Thornton Le Street near Thirsk during the autumn 2014.

The theme will be recent research on Roman Roads in North Yorkshire and a number of speakers will give their perspective on a subject which is attracting increasing interest.  Although focussed on North Yorkshire, it will be of interest to a wider geographical audience as a lot of roads go to other places!
