ROMAN EMPIRE EXHIBITION, EVENTS & LECTURES
A British Museum Tour Leeds City Museum
A major touring British Museum Exhibition is coming to Yorkshire! The exhibition also gives visitors a chance to explore their own local Roman heritage. Fascinating artefacts from Leeds Museums and Galleries’ own collections and from other locally renowned museum’s collections will be on show including important jewellery, sculpture and religious objects from across the region. Leeds City Museum is one of only six UK venues to host this remarkable exhibition and provides a rare opportunity for visitors to see the British Museum’s objects in Leeds. Roman objects can also be explored in our permanent galleries including the 1st century BC Lanuvium marbles and a mosaic from Dalton Parlours, the only excavated Roman villa in West Yorkshire.
