There are a number of heritage events coming up over the next few weeks which we thought you may be interested in. Details are below and full details of some of the events can be found in the attached documents.
First World War & Nidderdale AONB Commemorative Walk – full details
Saturday 20 September, 10am to 4pm
Join us to commemorate the First World War at this special centenary event. Events and activities throughout the day will form the backdrop to a walking party who will ‘walk in the footsteps of the Leeds Pals’, taking the same route the Leeds Pals took 100 years ago from The Old Station in Masham to their training camp in Colsterdale.

Saturday 27, 10am to 5pm
An interactive day with talks, demonstrations and a guided walk. A joint event with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.

WW1 & Nidderdale AONB: WEA (Workers’ Educational Association) Nidderdale Branch Day School on WW1
Saturday 4 October, 10am to 4pm
A day of talks and workshops on ‘Voices from the Home Front in history and writing’. All welcome.
At: Summerbridge Church.
Cost: £18 for the day including lunch or £10 without lunch.

Heritage Forum – full details and booking form
Friday 10th October, 10am to 4pm
A day of talks and workshops exploring the First World War, and its effect on the landscape and communities of the AONB. There will also be stands and displays by local heritage groups. This event is open to anyone with an interest in the heritage of Nidderdale AONB.
At: Fearby & Healey Village Hall.

Saturday 18 October, 9am to 5pm
Join Paul Mosley, Hackfall Officer, for a 12 mile circular walk along part of ‘The Aislabie Walk’, which links the designed landscapes at Studley Royal and Hackfall. Starting from and ending at Studley in the south, the walk will go just beyond Galphay in the north taking in some fascinating heritage sites in between. Dogs welcome. Please bring a packed lunch or money for a pub lunch at the Galphay Inn.
Meet: Lakeside car park (Deer Park) at Studley Royal (approx. £3 for the day or free to NT members).
Cost: £5 per adult, under 16s free.
